WARNING!

MOTORSPORTS COULD BE DANGEROUS

Even if the organizers took all the reasonable precautions, unforeseeable accidents can occur. Knowing these facts, you attend the rally at your own risks.

NEW ITINERARY FOR THE SPECTATORS

Since the events of the 9/11/2001, many changes have affected the way insurances and risk management are dealt with. Rally did not escape these measures and the insurance companies that cover rally events in Canada have tightened their security requirements. The Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS) had to create a safety plan applicable to all the rally events in Canada. Because of new standards that require a perfect control of all the spectators who attend rally stages, it became impossible for our organization - due to limited financial and human resources - to ensure the adequate safety of everyone, unlike the adequate safety of previous years on popular stages.

For these reasons, we have adopted a new approach, which we hope will allow a spectacular event, while remaining safe and practical. Thus, the public is invited to attend four special stages that will be presented in the near Quebec City area.

The first site is the Hippodrome of Quebec City. Special stages will be presented there on Saturday at 1 PM to 3:30PM and at 7:50PM to 10:30PM. We have come up with a new concept for the show of the Hippodrome of Quebec City. This should make it all better than ever - a must to see!

The second site is the very popular site of the Parc Technologique. The stage is identical to the previous editions of the rally and cars will depart on Sunday for a first passage at 10:45 AM. The second passage is scheduled for 12 noon. We suggest you arrive at least an hour before the event. This should give you enough time to find an appropriate parking spot, and to find a safe and comfortable place. The stage is free for everyone.

As you can notice, this new setup is to the advantage of the spectators. The aforementioned sites offer abundant parking and are also easily accessible. No need to travel to stages in rural regions. That also frees your time for other activities for the weekend.

Access to the special stages on forest roads is PROHIBITED to the spectators. Their access is very difficult and unsafe. The roads used between the stages are very narrow and there is no space for parking. In order to dissuade even the most stubborn, we will close the access to the roads several kilometres ahead of the departure of the timed stages. It will also be impossible for you to walk to the departure of any of these stages.

SECURITY

At the time of the presentation of these special stages, we ask you to respect all the security instructions. Do not go in the areas that are prohibited to the spectators. Stay several metres away from the road to ensure that a vehicle in loss of control cannot reach you. Stay courteous with those in charge of safety. They are volunteers whose duty is to take care of your safety. The coordination centre of the rally remains in radio communication with all the volunteers on the site. If our observers notice that a part of the crowd does not behave properly, the clerk oft he course will order the cancellation of the special stage. We are convinced that you are responsible rally amateurs and that you will help us to present the best show possible.

CIVISM

When you attend a special stage, you do so on the property of a third party. These owners accept the fact that there will be a crowd on their land. We trust that you will behave with respect to protect the physical integrity of what surrounds you, including trees and shrubs, and the traffic signs, among others. We ask you to collect all your litters when you leave.
